School is well underway and my new job deserves a post all it's own (and at another time). September is here which means that October is right around the corner. And October is, by far, our most hectic month. With Syd's birthday, Halloween, trips to the pumpkin patch, our annual pumpkin carving party, and now our schools' fundraising festival, October is jam packed.
Jess and I have talked about preparing for October this year. It usually creeps up on us and we scramble all month. So we've already planned the girls' birthday parties, we've picked a date for the carving party, and we've already designed the girls Halloween costumes. But that doesn't mean that the next couple of months won't be frantic, crazy, and just a blur.
If you know me, you know I hate, hate, hate to use the word busy. I prefer active. However, currently, my proverbial plate is quite full. In addition to being a teacher this year, and having to plan all my own lessons, I'm the chairman of our school's fundraiser, I've been planning Girl Scout meetings, Jess volunteered me to be the assistant coach of Syd's soccer team, and I'm taking violin and tap lessons with the girls. I could easily use that dreaded word. But I just can't bring myself to do so - my life is no more busy than the next person's. So, to that end, suffice it to say that over the next eight weeks, we will be abundantly active.
That ... all that ... being said, is basically my way of saying I may not be around a lot until November. And then, of course, the holiday season begins. So maybe I should say until 2012. Who knows? I hate that I haven't been around a lot since school started - I don't like what working does to my blogging habits. But I'm hoping to squeeze in a post here and a post there (I have a few posts already started).
So until next time ...

i hate to use the word busy too. it always seems like using that word turns it into a competition.
